About the People
David Roberts
Boatbuilder, Designer, Craftsman

     Originally David entered Cornell's engineering program to pursue aircraft design, then moved into boat building after a stint in the U.S. Army. He has been custom designing boats for clients and developing his own approach to boat design, combining traditional and modern techniques at the Everett, Washington shop on the Snohomish River since 1974.
Stringer-Frame Construction is integral to performance hull design for powerboats designed by Nexus Marine.

As a Nexus Marine client, you are involved in every phase of construction. We encourage our clients to come to the shop and roll up their sleeves. They seldom get as "hands-on" as the client in the photo, but it is an option.

Most of our clients have, over the years, become good friends and like a family.


Nancy and David doing what they love best, after building boats. Actually they prefer hiking in the sunshine, but this is the Pacific Northwest.

Nancy Sosnove and David Roberts have operated Nexus Marine in Everett, Washington, since 1974. After their return from fishing in Bristol Bay, Alaska in 1980, they began designing sturdy small fishing craft. They continue to expand their design and building capabilities.
